MY JOURNEY
MY JOURNEY
Hi! I’m Megan- I’m so glad you’re here. If you’re seeking a therapist who views you as an individual with unique strengths, a partner in navigating your own healing journey, and an advocate for your highest self, then I’m here, ready to support you! Together, we’ll cultivate empowerment, authenticity, and an enduring sense of well-being.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the fitness industry where I witnessed the profound connection between developing physical skills and strength and cultivating confidence and emotional resilience. As I embarked on my own path of healing, using movement to overcome my own trauma and anxiety, I learned about the intrinsic connection between physical well-being and mental health. This experience led me to relocate from the coast of South Carolina to the city of Austin to pursue a master’s in social work from the University of Texas and further deepen my understanding of the mind-body connection.

EXPERTISE AND SPECIALIZATION
EXPERTISE AND SPECIALIZATION
I have worked with children, teens, adults, groups, and families in a variety of settings, including schools and nonprofit mental health clinics. As a Licensed Master Social Worker, I specialize in working with depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship conflicts, childhood trauma, and personality and dissociative disorders. No matter your background or story, I approach every client case from a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and neurobiological lens that acknowledges the impact of culture and environment and integrates body, mind, and spirit.
My training has been diverse and dynamic, incorporating the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) to address complex PTSD and dissociative disorders. Alongside CRM, I draw upon techniques from various therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Attachment-Based Therapy. I’m currently enhancing my skills in CRM and seeking training in EMDR to further expand my skills.
